Services

The Rehab Group is a progressive Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy practice. We have three locations throughout the Murrieta and Temecula area. Our therapists are leaders in the industry and offer a wide variety of rehabilitation methods, including Orthopedic Therapy, Post Surgical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and Lymphedema Therapy.

Orthopedic Therapy

Orthopedic Therapy

Orthopedic Physical Therapy is focused on treating musculoskeletal pain and injury. This includes conditions involving:

  • Muscles
  • Tendons
  • Ligaments
  • Joints
  • Bones
  • Connective tissue

A large component of orthopedic Physical Therapy includes specific and tailored treatment sessions for post-operative procedures performed by an orthopedic surgeon.

At The Rehab Group, we have masterful clinicians who are specifically trained to help with your full rehab process.

Some of our most common cases are:

  • Shoulder issues
  • Knee, and hip replacements
  • Rotator cuff repair
  • Knee meniscal repairs
  • Lumbar laminectomies

This can include treatment sessions before and after surgery. If you have not had surgery, but notice that you are not moving as well in certain joints or have had a recent injury, we can help you.

The Rehab Group uses a comprehensive approach that is evidence-based and backed by research with seasoned clinicians and those who have doctorate degrees in Physical Therapy.

Orthopedic Physical Therapy is based in an outpatient clinic setting that provides a relaxed and supportive environment. We will listen to your concerns, determine the cause of the problem and formulate a treatment plan to address those concerns.

A typical treatment session includes hands-on skilled manual therapy, which is a combination of soft tissue and joint mobilizations as clinically necessary.

Each patient is provided with specific exercises addressing their concerns and is personally guided through their exercises and given resources for home. Additionally, we will address posture and alignment, body mechanics and assess your gait and assist with stretching and strengthening muscles.

What Can Orthopedic Physical Therapy Help

Other common conditions that are addressed by orthopedic Physical Therapy include:

  • Shoulder dysfunction
  • Neck pain
  • Knee and hip replacements
  • Rotator cuff repairs
  • Knee meniscal tears
  • Lumbar laminectomies, fusions
  • Sciatica

We work with patients of all ages including patients from 3 months old to patients in their 90s.

We have extensive experience in prevention and recovery from sports-related injuries and in assisting older adults in maintaining their strength and mobility.

Pre and Post Surgical Therapy

Physical Therapy is an essential component for pre and post orthopedic surgical procedures. It is utilized for operations including the hip, knee, ankle, foot, shoulder, elbow, wrist, hand, and spine. It can start immediately after surgery or after a short period of immobilization depending on your doctor’s recommendation.

Pre-surgery Benefits

Physical Therapy can provide huge benefits before your surgery. It can help to:

  • Speed up recovery
  • Strengthen muscles
  • Decrease pain and inflammation
  • Provide training in immediate post surgical exercises
  • Prepare you for your procedure both physically and mentally

Post surgery Benefits

Physical Therapy post surgical benefits include:

  • Restore movement patterns
  • Reducing swelling
  • Restoring and improving mobility
  • Regaining strength
  • Increasing endurance
  • Specific training for returning to activities and work
Post Surgical Therapy

How Pre/Post Surgical Physical Therapy Works

You will meet individually with a Physical Therapist who will perform a comprehensive evaluation and develop a personalized plan of care to maximize your recovery. This includes reducing swelling, restoring functional mobility, regaining muscle strength, and successfully transitioning back to functional activities. You and your physical therapist will work together to establish goals specific to each individual. Initially, following surgery, the emphasis will be on decreasing swelling and reducing pain. Next, a period will follow where the physical therapist using a combination of hands-on manual therapy and assigned therapeutic exercises will focus on increasing your range of motion. This is followed by increasing strength, balance, proprioception, and then transitioning back to pre-surgical activities and fitness levels.

Specific Treatments May Include:

  • Skilled manual therapy
  • Exercises to improve mobility
  • Posture, balance, and coordination training
  • Modalities including ice, heat, Ultrasound, and Electrical Stimulation
  • Home Exercise Program
  • Gait analysis and training
  • Exercises to strengthen muscles
  • Return to work training

Occupational Therapy

Occupational Therapy treats patient’s injuries, illnesses, or disabilities with therapeutic use of daily activities. Occupational Therapist’s role is to assist patients in leading productive lives. They do this by creating a treatment plan that helps develop, recoup, and maintain a meaningful lifestyle. Therapists often work on tasks such as: self-care, leisure activities, and diverse work environments. They are also able to adapt to the needs of the patient ranging from physical to social and developmental.

Occupational Therapy Services Typically Include:

  • An individualized evaluation, during which the client/family and occupational therapist determine personal goals
  • Customized intervention to improve the person’s ability to perform daily activities
  • An outcomes evaluation to ensure that the goals are being met

The Rehab Group works with people who strive to participate as active members of society but may be limited by physical, developmental and emotional difficulties. We assist people in learning skills for living independent, creative and satisfying lives.

Neurological Rehabilitation

The Rehab Group provides exceptional, one on one care for a variety of neurological conditions including stroke, brain injury, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease, and other neurological disorders. We also treat vestibular conditions, balance and gait dysfunctions. Although some neurological conditions create permanent disability, The Rehab Group can provide education and treatment strategies. These can help minimize disability, reduce the need for caregivers, and improve independence and quality of life.

Treatment interventions may include strengthening, coordination, balance training and tone reduction techniques. The treatment plan is based on an evaluation of the patient and is specifically designed to meet their special needs. Goals of therapy are agreed upon by the patient, therapist and referring physician. It is helpful to consider your goals prior to starting therapy so that you can more easily discuss them with your therapist.
