The Rehab Group is a progressive physical therapy and occupational therapy practice. We have three locations throughout the Murrieta and Temecula area. Lymphedema is a condition involving swelling as a result of insufficiency of the lymphatic system. The lymphatic system is an important part of our circulatory system and our immune system. If lymph nodes are inadequate, destroyed or removed, swelling may develop.
Lymphedema may occur as a result of insufficiency at birth or it may occur due to damage of the lymphatic system. For example, during breast cancer treatment, the lymph nodes near the breast may be removed or damaged resulting in swelling of the arm.
Vestibular rehabilitation therapy (VRT) VRT uses specific head, body, and eye exercises designed to retrain the brain to recognize and process signals from the vestibular or inner ear system and coordinate them with additional information from your eyes and your muscles and tendons. Your therapist will perform a thorough evaluation including taking your history, performing a vision, vertigo, balance, gait and a musculoskeletal assessment to develop an individualized treatment plan based on your problems.
LSVT BIG® is a specialized treatment program specifically designed for individuals with Parkinson’s disease. This program helps improve individual’s physical movement, strength, and balance. Participants of this program have seen a significant decrease in the progression of their symptoms, as well as a lower risk for falls or other injuries.
Physical therapy addresses women’s health issues including pain or injury while pregnant, post-partum, general pelvic pain, pain with intercourse, painful menstruation, prolapse, and incontinence. At The Rehab Group, you’ll work with a trained Doctor of physical therapy in a private setting to address your needs. You’ll be instructed in specific exercises to help strengthen your pelvic floor muscles and manual therapy will be provided as needed. Our physical therapist is certified in pelvic floor physical therapy, which includes both external and internal manual therapy along with targeted exercises for relaxation and strengthening of the pelvic floor muscles.
